FrySpam Help |
Introduction
FrySpam downloads information on emails from your email Inbox and displays them on the screen. It shows who they are from, the subject, and (optionally) the size. You can also preview the text of the email. FrySpam is text based. It does not download attachments or execute html. This provides additional security from viruses and trojans.
How it works
At first, all emails are marked as Spam.
Any emails you want, you click to add to a list. You then click Fry
to remove the Spam ones. Click Confirm
and they will be deleted from your mailbox. You are then left with a list of
wanted emails. You then click to open Outlook Express
(or Outlook ) where you can Send/Receive
to download them. The next time you run FrySpam,
known emails in your list are not listed as Spam.
You very quickly build up the list and therefore train FrySpam
to know which are wanted emails. The Spam ones
are grouped together, as are the wanted ones. Details about individual emails
can be easily viewed by clicking in the Subject
column, allowing you to preview an email before you decide whether you want to
keep it. Click the preview to hide it.
So, once you have sorted the email into the two categories, by simply clicking
the Fry button, you delete all your unwanted
emails before they reach your email programme. You then click the Outlook
Express button to close FrySpam and open your email programme. You can then Send/Receive
with the confidence that only wanted emails will be downloaded. As you become
familiar with FrySpam, you get very used to
scanning down the list and spotting a new wanted email. The human mind is very
adept at pattern recognition, particularly the typically jumbled letters of Spam
emails and likewise the orderly arrangement of wanted emails. Try it
and you will see.
To change a Spam email into a wanted one without adding it to the list, click the word Spam. To change it back, click in the Fry column. This is useful for an email that you maybe only want to see the once.
